Theoretical study of the reaction mechanisms of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons

In collaboration with the team "PhysicoChemistry of Combustion Processes" and in order to better understand the formation processes of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons directly involved in the nucleation processes of soot particles, studies are carried out in particular on reactions of interest involving species with several aromatic rings considered as key species in the transition between the gas and particle phase in flames. For this purpose, the use of theoretical chemistry methods coupled with the use of statistical thermodynamics and appropriate kinetic theories is used in this joint project.
